Story
The 38th Welsh Division fought the battle of Mametz Wood in July 1916. Over 4000 men died or were injured in the battle, part of the Somme offensive. This was the first big battle for the Welsh volunteers who joined up at the beginning of the war. This journey is a tribute to those men and the families they left behind. We wish to attend the ceremony of remembrance at the Dragon memorial at Mametz.
Jemima is a Morris 8 and will be 80 years old at the time of our journey, for which we have to complete 840 miles in the 5 days of the run. We are asking you to give a donation to ProstateCymru to recognise our challenge, which is to raise £10 pounds for every mile of our journey.
