Story

James was a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology, whose lead roles were in leading our MSc in Physician Associate Studies and making major contributions to our MSc in Clinical Pharmacology and to the MBChB programme. He juggled this alongside a busy clinical load being part of the team in General Medicine delivering inpatient and outpatient care in the past and significant contributions to outpatient care more recently.

James contributed a huge amount to teaching and clinical service whilst maintaining his research interests through projects in clinical pharmacology and supervising PhD students. He was enormously hard-working, consistently good natured in the way he met his many commitments and demands on his time. Through this, he touched the lives of many University and NHS staff, students, patients and graduates.

He had a distinctive and charismatic style and will be remembered with great fondness by all who came into contact with him, especially his close colleagues. He will be remembered lovingly by his family and friends.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Once you donate, the money will be sent directly to the charity and be used to create a student hardship fund and/or create the James McLay student prize(s).
