Story
I’m raising money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of my partners cousin Sarah Elizabeth Read who sadly passed away in 2022. Sarah was born with a hole in her heart, a condition called AVSD (atrial ventricular septal defect). When she was only 13 months old she had her first open heart surgery to correct her condition, she then had further surgery to repair her mitral valve. She lived a very healthy life until she was 24 years old after contracting endocarditis which resulted in her having a prosthetic mitral valve fitted. Sarah sadly died on the 7th August 2022 due to problems with pregnancy and coagulation, when she was told she would be well looked after. Sarah was only 31 years old when she died. She was the light of everyone’s lives, whenever anyone was in her company it was nothing but positive energy and lots of love. She brightened everyone’s day and lived life to the fullest always, she loved to travel and never took life for granted, she was the sunshine of all of our lives. Her family would like monies raised to be given to the research into young women with heart problems and pregnancy, to prevent this happening to anyone else and their families.
