Story
A very dear friend of mine, Dave Holman, passed away in 2016 from a tragic bike accident. Dave was one of the most positive and fun loving person that I ever had the chance to be friends with. I'll be doing a 1-day 32-mile long walk on 5/21/2022 in honor of him and a charity that he cherished when he was alive. I understand that the charity is in the U.K. but I believe charitable giving should have no boundaries. Therefore, I am asking all of my friends here in the U.S. and abroad in support of my walk to donate to Tiny Steps. Below is a brief explanation of the annual walk.
The Dave Holman Challenge is an annual walk organized by the friends of Tiny Steps, in memory of our dear friend, brother, uncle and son - Dave Holman. Dave died in a road accident in 2016 and this walk ensures his memory lives on in a positive way, by raising money for a Northwich-based charity that he supported. It is a chance for walkers to come together on an annual basis, take on a physical challenge, remember Dave and raise money for Tiny Steps. The Dave Holman Challenge has not taken place for the last two years due to COVID-19 concerns, but we are coming back with a bang on Saturday May 21st 2022 with a really memorable walk. The route for the fifth DHC will take walkers from Morecambe to Blackpool along the Lancashire Coastal Path, with either a 24 or 32-mile option. Tiny Steps' aim is to provide a sensory play area and social cafe for children and young people with additional needs and their families in the Northwich/Winsford area of Cheshire. The charity was set up by Martin and Laura Clifton, when their daughter Connie was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy called West Syndrome.
