The London Marathon 2025

Story

My son Lando was diagnosed with a serious heart defect and kidney condition at our 20 week scan. He was born 11 weeks prematurely, weighed 2lbs 4oz and could fit in the palm of my hand. We spent 5 of Lando’s first 18 months living in intensive care and the children’s cardiac ward and Lando underwent his first open heart surgery before he had reached his due date. He has since had 2 further open heart surgeries as well as abdominal surgery. Lando will need more heart surgery when he is a little older.

I’m running London Marathon to raise money for Action Medical Research - the leading UK charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. Their research has helped to develop ultrasound (without which Lando simply wouldn’t be here), supported premature babies as well as helped children with congenital heart conditions.

I would greatly appreciate any donations to support this brilliant cause which is very close to me and my family. Running a marathon will be tough, but nothing compared to what Lando has been through.
