We support those bereaved by suicide to navigate grief and open the conversation

Story

Like me, many of you to whom I have sent this will have had first hand experience of dealing with the grief that follows the suicide of someone close to you. And, thankfully, many of you will not....

Either way, I would be enormously grateful if you were able to help support a charity which is doing an amazing job. Suicide & Co does not work with the PREVENTION of suicide - there are a number of superb, other organisations that do that - rather, they are there to support those who are suffering after the event.

Based on the annual average since 2001 (5,691) there are an estimated 34,146 people directly bereaved by suicide each year in the UK.

September 9th is World Suicide Prevention Day so that is the day when I will take to the river in my kayak and attempt to paddle 34km of the River Medway in Kent.

The charity has two main aims:

1. To provide specialist support and counselling to those bereaved by suicide

2. To open up the conversation around suicide-related grief.

With love and gratitude....
