Story
We are on a mission to make people smile this October and to make some money for the Grampian NHS Endowment Fund.
This year for the week of halloween (26th to 31st of October) we will be holding a It's The Great Pumpkin Trail in and around Ellon and Balmedie. We are planning to get the community involved by asking households and businesses to design their own creations from pumpkins and display them outside their house or business for the week of halloween. People will then be able to walk around Ellon and Balmedie, see all the wonderful designs and vote for their favourite.
Your creations can be carved, painted or just dressed up. There’s even a prize for the best pumpkin!
Why are we doing this?
This year has been very hard on everyone but especially our National Health Service. Our NHS has continued to do an incredible job and have been pushed to their limits during the COVID-19 pandemic and we want to be able to give something back.
So how does it work?
If you want to be a part of the Great Pumpkin Trail and be in for a chance of winning the prize, just donate £3 to the JustGiving page below and email us at greatpumpkintrail@gmail.com or contact us through our Facebook page with your details and we will add you to the
official Great Pumpkin Trail list. If you don’t want to enter but just want to donate to a good cause, that’s ok too!
You can vote for your favourite creation via the facebook page. The
pumpkin with the most votes on the 1st of November will be declared the Pumpkin King or Queen and receive the prize.
This will show support for the event and bring some well deserved funds
for the NHS.
We want to see the pumpkins!
We will be creating an official Great Pumpkin Trail map once we know which households or businesses would like to take place. So please join us in raising the spirits of everyone in Ellon and Balmedie by backing our NHS in the fight against COVID-19 by taking part.
