About Islington Play Association (IPA)
For over 50 years, Islington Play Association (IPA) has been fighting for children’s rights in one of London’s most overcrowded boroughs. In Islington, where parks are scarce and many homes lack gardens, access to safe spaces for play is a luxury few can afford. Yet, play is vital, it’s how children build resilience, confidence, and social skills, and develop the freedom to explore and learn about themselves and the world.
IPA has always believed in the power of play. Founded by local residents in the 1970s, IPA works to ensure that every child in Islington and nearby boroughs has the opportunity to play and thrive, regardless of their background. Through partnerships with the local council, voluntary groups and organisations, IPA has created a network of adventure playgrounds and children’s centre that empower children to explore, take risks, and discover their potential.
At IPA, we know that play is more than just fun, it’s essential for health, development, and well-being. Our adventure playgrounds serve thousands of children every year, offering FREE, safe spaces where they can play, learn, and grow.
But we need your help. With your support, IPA can continue to provide the high-quality play and learning opportunities that every child deserves. Help us build a brighter future for children, because every child’s right to play is worth fighting for.
Donate today and make a difference in a child’s life.
