Story
Dear all,
Our precious daughter Izzy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at 18 months old. Izzy received treatment which gave her over 90% chance of survival. Unfortunately after 16 months Izzy relapsed. She required more treatment along with a bone marrow transplant. Seven months after her transplant Izzy ended up in PICU with a rare post transplant complication. After 5 weeks on maximum life support Isabella Camilla Darmoo (Izzy) passed away on August 7th 2015.
Chelsea & Westminster hospital have been a huge part of our journey. In fact before becoming our local we were seen in a&e where Izzy was first diagnosed.
Izzy attended clinic's there, had numerous transfusions but also had medications supplied and administered.
The team at chelsea have always been amazing and showed us so much love. Throughout our journey they treated us like family. They were always as positive as we were.
We used to hate going in and being away from home. Izzy would cry as we left home but the nurses knew Izzy so well and what a diva she was that they knew exactly how to deal with her!
We can't thank them enough with words so we decided to raise money for the oncology department. We want to be able to give kids fun, love and laughter whenever they are at chelsea. We hope to raise enough money to give Neptune ward a whole new playroom.
Its the last place a family wants to be but hopefully with our help we can make it that bit better. The team will take your contributions and make sure that happens.
Thank you so much.
Much Love & God Bless.
Melissa, Frank, Daniel & Angel Izzy. xxxx
