Story
1952-2020
Carolyn would absolutely hate the idea of a whole page dedicated to her, but we thought her warmth and generosity should be celebrated.
She did so much in her life it would be impossible to go through it all here, she travelled all round the world, met all sorts of people. When she was 30, she settled down in France, and created an idyllic life for her children, with animals at every turn. In early 2000 she returned to the UK, for her children to learn English and experience a whole other way of living (and not be too French). In the most recent years her grandchildren became her focus, she moved to Chester to be closer to them and no recent photo can be found without a grandchild at her side.
In November 2019 she was was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer, and on the 12 of November at 6:30am, she sadly but peacefully passed away surrounded by her children. It is impossible for us to describe how much she will be missed and was beloved by her children, grandchildren and friends, she will remain a guiding presence for all of us.
Why we chose Catch 22
We wanted to choose a charity that celebrated her life, but that made it incredibly hard have just one. She seemed to have an endless amount of trust and belief in people and cared about all who were in need. In the end we chose Catch22, because she had recently voluntered for youth justice organisation, helping young offenders by giving them guidance or just listening and caring about their story. She always believed in the natural goodness of people and if given the opportunity and support everyone could flourish. With that in mind we thought we would set this page up so that anyone who knew our mum could celebrate her kindness and life by donating to a local charity that helps young people by giving them opportunities and second chances.
Please donate whatever you can, to make the world more generous and kind.
Thank you,
