Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Very sadly our Dad passed away on the 5th of November after falling seriously ill a few weeks before.

From his early twenties, our Dad lived with a condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis.  It is a painful, progressive form of arthritis affecting the spine and other joints, tendons and ligaments, and there is currently no cure.  It did not stop Dad from leading a full life, but it did mean lots of medication and other treatments over the years, including hip and knee transplants and foot surgery.  Indeed, he rarely complained and was always resilient.

The National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society (NASS) is a UK charity that supports people with Axial Spondyloarthritis, including Ankylosing Spondylitis, and funds research as part of a key aim of seeking every possible way to beat it.  Our hope is that by supporting the charity, we can help with the aim of beating the disease.

Your support to the charity in the memory of John would be greatly appreciated.

With our best wishes

Richard Newton & Vicky Folkes
