Story

Unlikely as it may seem, Inigo Gilmore IS running the New York Marathon on the 4th November 2012 in memory of Tim Hetherington and to raise funds for important charitable causes.

The funds raised will be administered by the Rory Peck Trust and will
benefit aspiring journalists & filmmakers in communities like those Tim used to work in, as well as a blind school in Sierra Leone that Tim was closely involved with.

Tim was tragically killed in April last year and as well as for his loved ones his death has also been deeply traumatic for the community of photographers, journalists and filmmakers that knew and loved him so much.

The aim is not only to keep Tim’s memory burning bright but also to raise critical funds for causes that will benefit aspiring journalists in different parts of the world, with a focus on places where opportunities for such critical training and support is rare.

Donations will  go to support skills training and safety training for aspiring photographers and video journalists/filmmakers as well as those already working in this field. This is very much in the spirit of Tim himself who always gave his time, his passion, advice and support to those who sought it, in particular journalists who were first starting out and who needed a helping hand.
