On 15th December, Chris tested positive for Covid-19 and was already experiencing symptoms of this. He was admitted to Lewisham Hospital on 21st December after having breathing difficulties and subsequently he suffered a heart attack the following day.

His breathing never really improved due to Covid attacking his lungs and breathlessness from the heart attack. The Doctors then decided to place Chris on a CPAP machine to help him breath and give him support with oxygen.

He was moved to Intensive Care on the 1st January for additional support for his breathing and low oxygen levels.

Chris stayed there until the 11th Janaury where he experienced stomach pains which resulted in internal bleeding and a further two heart attacks leading to multiple organ failure.

Due to Covid-19, we were unable to visit Chris in hospital and unable to call him most of the time due to him wearing a CPAP mask and Chris being too breathless to speak.

The morning of the 11th Janaury we were told as a family, he was to make a full recovery, however devastatingly the evening of the 11th January he went rapidly down hill and sadly, he passed away.

During his time in Lewisham Hospital Intensive Care Unit, Chris received excellent care from both the consultants and all the nurses, especially nurses Chris and Michelle who stayed beside Chris right up until he passed, holding his hand and comforting him which as a family we will be forever grateful for.

We are absolutely devastated by the loss of Chris and wish to raise money in his memory to go directly to Lewisham Hospital Intensive Care Unit for all their care and support.

Please help us to raise money to go towards more much needed equipment for the ICU at the University Hospital Lewisham and for us to give something back in Chris's memory.
