On the 16/17th of July a team of seven personnel from HMS Hurworth will be taking part in the 24 Peaks Challenge. The 24 Peaks Challenge is one of the most demanding yet rewarding events ever organised as a charity team. The challenge is to walk 24 Peaks, all over 2,400 feet, in just 24 hours. Including some of Englands most famous mountains such as scafell Pike and Helvellyn, in total we will be climbing half the ascent to Mount Everest!. The aim of this event is to raise money for 3 charities very close to our hearts, Seafarers UK, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC), and Hurworth’s Primary School Fund. Any donations given will be equally shared amongst the three. Your support is very much appreciated.

We’ve been improving the lives of those who work or have worked at sea, and their families, for over 100 years. Established in 1917 as The King George's Fund for Sailors, to support the families of seafarers lost at sea during World War One, we support seafarers throughout their career and beyond.
