Story
This January my grandad George sadly lost his life to cancer. He spent his last 4 weeks in Wigan and Leigh Hospice. Here all of the staff were absolutely incredible and to think they do this day in day out is really special. They made sure he was happy, comfortable and provided me and my family with a relaxed environment for us to spend quality time with him. They truly do provide everything to try and make the most of an awful situation.
My grandad couldn’t speak higher of the staff that looked after him and asked for donations to be given to them.
My running journey starter last June so this year I am running two half marathons. Wigan half marathon on the 22nd March and Southport half marathon on June 28th. I have no doubt that both will be physically and mentally tough and that’s not forgetting the training.
My grandad loved sports and was a keen runner when he was younger, also we would visit Southport regularly growing up, so it does seem fitting to make sure one of the runs is here.
Any donations would be amazing and it will definitely help me get through both runs knowing the money raised it going to such a good cause.
