Story

UPDATE!

Hello everyone, hopefully this will be my last status on the subject.

I very recently got blood results back confirming that I have the ALL CLEAR! Obviously I'm more than happy with the results and cannot wait for my life to be back to normal.

All in all we raised £1,564 with my sponsored hair shave and fundraiser. I would like to say a massive thank you to every single person that donated and to all my family and close family friends who came to the fundraiser to raise even more donations.

I'd also like to say thank you to all of the following companies for donating as well: Sainsbury, Tesco, Argos, Chaucer Foundation Whitstable, Tottenham Hotspur F.C and all the lads at the Northern Line Track.

Clic Sargent were and continue to be a great support for me and my family during this whole experience, especially Liz Hudson. Hopefully the donations we raised for them will help someone else in a similar situation to me, thank you!

I recently started back at work and cannot wait till I am back full time. My hair has also started to grow back as well, hopefully it will still be blonde..

Thank you all again so so much!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I recently discovered that I had Testicular Cancer.

Thanks to all the awareness from charities and the NHS I knew how to correctly check myself for any "differences". I noticed it at an early stage and chose not to ignore it due to having problems previously. I went back and forth to my doctors several times after them saying there was nothing wrong and me knowing there is something wrong, because you just know these things and I prefer to be safe than sorry. I told my doctor I wanted certain tests and ultrasounds done and thanks to my perseverance it was discovered and has now been fully removed and I will be fine.

I am going to have chemotherapy as in my opinion it is the best thing to kill off any last traces of cancer and to prevent re-occurrence in the near and far future. Professionals have advised me saying, that prevention is better than having to cure at a later date.

I would like to raise money for the charity "CLIC Sargent" thanking them for their support and especially that of Liz Hudson.

Liz is a member of staff who is really helping me and my family get through a difficult time, something that we have not experienced before. Whether it be with doctors, finance problems or any other questions that we would like to ask. People like Liz are what really make these charities such a success and really entice you into wanting to do something to thank them for doing such a fantastic job in helping you. Anything you want they will do their very best to help or find someone who can help. Liz also broke the ice about my treatment and can speak to me and my family with such ease as if we are not talking about an illness like this. She has given us a much better understanding, and we feel much more relaxed about the whole situation.

I am doing a sponsored head shave because then I feel like I am taking control and the Cancer does not have control over me. I'm also doing it to raise awareness and as much money as I can for such a great charity that is helping me and many more in similar situations.

To every single person that has taken time out to read this I would like to urge all of you to regularly check yourselves whether you are Male or Female. If you're around my age I know what you're thinking "It wont happen to me" well guess what, it happened to me. So don't risk it, do something about it! You may feel embarrassed to tell someone or even go to your doctors but they are trained professionals and will not make you feel embarrassed or uncomfortable at all, they are there to help. I cannot stress this enough!

I would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of my family and friends who have been and continue to show their support towards me. I would also like to show my gratitude to all of those who have donated towards my head shave to raise awareness about Testicular Cancer and money for CLIC Sargent.

I would not be no where near as calm, full of knowledge and prepared for this if it wasn't for my parents. They have been a gigantic support to me every single step of the way and I honestly don't know how to thank them enough for every thing they are doing for me. I Love You Mum and Dad x
