Story
I am about to embark on an expedition to the Liverpool Land area of Greenland and on the eve of departure I feel woefully underprepared! We are spending three weeks scaling previously unclimbed peaks and camping on the glacier.
I have the added challenge of being coeliac and therefore will need to be very careful about the army rations that we have had donated. My local Waitrose has also kindly donated some gluten free food towards this.
I would really like to be able to raise money towards Pancreatic Research whilst undertaking this expedition as it is one the cancers that is still not having the progress in survival of other cancers. My grandmother is in remission from Non Hodgkins lymphoma and if it had been the original diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer I am certain she would not still be alive.
I feel passionately that the profile of this silent killer needs to be raised and I hope that by creating this justgiving page I wll be able to go a little way towards doing this.
Fnally I would like to dedicate this adventure to Roger Payne with whom I had the great privilege of climbing in the Alps last summer and who was a truly inspirational man.
So, if you are in any way able to help I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you.
