he 11th of August at midday will see the start of The Great Big British Portrait Marathon, 26 hours and 38 minutes, taking photos, aiming for 2012 people at each location to coincide with the Olympic Marathon. Currently 19 studios (and growing daily) from all over the country, and 1 in Dubai, shooting simultaneously to raise money for charity. We Blandford Studios, representing the Blandford and Dorset location.

The event will be an amazing snapshot of the local people & the country, raising money, through donations, for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity. It really will be a fantastic event to be involved in whether as a photographer, supporting business or most importantly as someone popping down to be part of this amazing event.

We want everyone and anyone to come down, people straight from work, people on a day out, people heading home after a night out. Bring your pet, a hobby, family members and friends! We want to make this something truly fantastic and truly National!

The event will run from midday on Saturday the 11th of August to 2:38pm on Sunday the 12th of August. If we can get 2012 people along it will mean an incredible 1 photo every 44 seconds!!!
