Cosmic supports children’s and neonatal intensive care at St Mary’s and Queen Charlotte’s Hospitals by funding life-saving equipment, ground-breaking research, specialist training, and providing vital support and accommodation for families during the toughest times.

Story

Last year, our youngest son, Ollie, was seriously ill in hospital with infected chicken pox.  It was a horrendous time for us and one which still haunts us now.  Thankfully Ollie got better.

Our friends' little daughter Grace (a few months older than Ollie) was diagnosed with severe chicken pox on the same day as Ollie.

Tragically Grace died on 24 April 2007 aged 13 months having been cared for in her last few weeks at the Paediatric unit of St Mary's hospital, Paddington.

In June, I will be raising money for the unit through its charity, COSMIC, by taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge, which involves climbing Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis all within 24 hours. I will be climbing with colleagues from Vodafone who are raising money for several other charities.

The money I raise will go towards much needed equipment at the unit.
