Provides low cost neutering and veterinary services for animals whose owners don't qualify for help from the major charities or cannot afford private veterinary fees. The Trust operates a rescue & re-homing service for domestic and feral cats and provides long and short-term sanctuary accommodation.

Story

This is Tommy our grand daughter, Tierney's cat.  Tommy lives with us as Tierney didn't want to separate him from his 2 brothers, Jake and Tigger.  He came home recently with a very badly broken leg after a road traffic accident.  We thought Tommy would either have to be put to sleep or at the very least have to have his leg amputated as we couldn't afford the enormous vet fees.  We approached The Celia Hammond Trust, who were only too happy to help.

The Celia Hammond Animal Trust was established in 1986 and is a charity passionate about the welfare of cats.  The Trust rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes unwanted, abondoned and stray pet cats and also helps with neuter and return of semi-feral cat colonies, where their safety is assured.  They have a non-destruction policy at the Trust.  Have a read at www.celiahammond.org and see what a brilliant job they do.

Hilary, one of the vets, spent 4 hours putting Tommy's leg back together!  She is a star, and although Tommy is still quite poorly at the hospital in Canning Town Branch, he is doing really well and we hope to have him home soon.

The Trust really need our help and as a way of saying thank you to Hilary and Celia I am running in either the 2011 London or Edinburgh Marathon.  My aim is to get 500 people to donate £2.  Most of us can afford £2, but if you'd like to donate more that would be great.  Please sponsor me £1 and pass this onto family, friends and animal lovers!

I will keep you updated on Tom's progress and upload some more photo's soon.

Thanks!
