Myself and my boat partner Matthew are going to row from North Devon to Scotland, to be exact Ilfracombe to Scotland (or the nearest point dependent upon current rules and regulations) . Its about 250  miles and is going to be  a bit of an adventure. We are planning on setting sail in early July (weather and permitting) in our trusty vessel Pegasus, a Rannoch R25 (https://www.rannochadventure.com/boats-2/r25) ocean going rowing boat. The row is being supported by  Rannoch Adventure. This will be 3/4 days rowing, 24hrs a day, 2 hours on 2 off! We have trained hard but have had limited time on the boat due to the Covid lockdown. However the support that we have received from Rannoch, despite all the difficulties has enabled us to be as prepared as we can be.

This provides us with a great opportunity to raise money for our respective charities. 

I have chosen the Marine Conservation Society. Your support and generosity makes doing something like this worthwhile and will provide impetus to my rowing muscles when I get tired!

I am a committed environmentalist, amateur naturalist and birdwatcher. Nature sustains me. I am an open water swimmer, surfer and at my happiest when immersed in cold water (something I hope not to be on the row!) so the choice of charity was easy for me. I believe that we have to do everything we can to protect the marine environment. The seas are vital to the creatures that live in them but also to our own health and survival. We are in danger of irreparably damaging our birthright and bequeathing a marine disaster to forthcoming generations.
