Story
Hey everyone! I'm Natalie. A yoga, mindfulness and meditation teacher from Derby. I’m organising a Christmas presents collection for a local Derby charity, Children First, to support vulnerable children.
Who are Children’s First?
Established in 1974 by a Derby resident, the charity’s aim is to relieve the distress and suffering experienced by families and children. In particular, those who have suffered from, or are likely to suffer from, violence or maltreatment in their homes. They work to benefit children, young people and families to make life improvements in all sorts of ways, with their main services being:
Supervised Contact Service for Looked After Children
Family Support Services
Mentoring Services for Young People
If you’re not in a position to purchase a present yourself for whatever reason (maybe online isn’t an option or you live somewhere far away from me), feel free to donate to this Just Giving page which will send your donation directly to the charity to support them in other ways.
If you are able to donate a present, here's all the information you should need.
The charity looks after both boys and girls and anything, whatever size, would be greatly appreciated. The different age groups are:
5 and under
5-7
8-12
Teenagers
What presents can I give?
The only thing that’s different this year are the guidelines to keep everyone safe and stop the spread of Covid.
Gifts we can’t give:
Items that can’t be cleaned with antibacterial wipes, e.g. soft cuddly toys, clothes/fabric etc.
Already used/second-hand items.
Inappropriate gifts, e.g. anything violent or offensive.
NOTE: The gifts can’t be wrapped up. Upon receiving them, Children’s First will clean, sort into the appropriate age group and then wrap it themselves.
Gifts we can give:
Chocolate selection boxes
Colouring/reading books
Pencil crayons
Toys/sensory toys/
Footballs
Lego
Craft activities
Board games
Along with so many other things!
The deadline for donations is 7th December, so please let me know anytime before then if you would like to give anything. I am available for local, socially distanced pickups or drop offs - whatever suits you.
I understand that this is a difficult time for us all, but it would be amazing if we could come together and do what we can for those who don’t have much.
Any questions, just send me a message to ask, and please get in touch if you’d like to get involved.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support!!!
Lots of love, Natalie xx
