About Funtington and District Village Hall
Our much loved village hall dates from 1928 when it was built by the WI. it was handed over to a village hall trust in 1965 for the use of the inhabitants of the civil parish of Funtington and we the new trustees are planning a large exciting refurbishment of the whole hall. We are hoping to receive grants to start the process and already have money promised by the Bernard Sunley Foundation plus a Tesco and Co-op bag grant. The South Downs National Park Authority are also in the process of offering a large grant towards the renovation costs. We wish to raise any further funds that our local community feel that they can offer by events in the hall and village plus this Just Giving page. When finished, the hall will have a new kitchen and a retractable stage to replace the present one thus allowing a larger hall space for daily use. A much needed new heating and electrical system will be installed with improved insulation and the exterior of the hall will have a smart face lift with improved parking. The hall is already well used by the Guides,Brownies, Cubs, beavers and Scouts. There is a computer club, flower group, painting group and of course the Womens Institute. Our main users though are the Funtington Players who regularly rehearse and perform plays in the hall. Once the refurbishment is done we hope to attract new groups to book the hall. Thank you for your valued support
