Story
After primary breast cancer in 2015 and a diagnosis of secondary (stage 4, metastatic, incurable) breast cancer in my bones just before Christmas, my family and I have benefited from and will continue to use MacMillan’s services. I am taking on a Mighty Hike along the picturesque Jurassic coastline to raise money so that they can continue to support people living with cancer.
I am doing this with a group of friends who are former work colleagues (CAP) from the late 80s, some current workmates and a couple of youngsters who we hope are going to carry us up the steep bits 😂.
Earlier in the year I could not even have made it to the start line due to a collapsed lung and I am still undergoing weekly chemo so am apprehensive of whether I will be able to finish the course but with support of Team Chuff and Puff & MacMillan volunteers as well as all your donations spurring me on I’m determined to do as many miles as I can.
I have pledged to raise £250 and would appreciate any support in reaching this. It could go towards funding a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
