Story
Help The Hospices is the umbrella organisation for our beloved hospice, St Johns. This is the place that you drive past, hoping that you will never be unfortunate enough to have to cross its threshold. We needed St Johns in 2009 when our lovely father-in-law and uncle, Ian Stephenson was losing his fight with Pancreatic Cancer. In those final weeks and days, the Hospice provided a level of care and support that is indescribable at a heartbreaking time. Like many hospices, St Johns needs ongoing fundraising support to be able to continue to provide respite and palliative care to those that need it most, whilst also ensuring that family members are supported at the time they need it most.
We like to run, but this is a challenge that will test us both to the max. A half marathon is a distance to be respected and we aim to do our absolute best for Ian and all the others that have needed and will need St Johns and all the other hospices around the country.
This is our story, but I know that many of you will have similar experiences- so please help by giving what you can.
