Story

Rubenstein Taybi Syndrome (RTS) I know your thinking what is that? And if you asked me 6 years ago I wouldn't have had a clue either. RTS is a rare genetic disorder which causes varying amount of learning difficulties and affects 1 in 125,000 new borns in the UK today...and I know this because on 31st  October 2016, our little RTS warrior Aara was born.

Since birth Aara has always been pushing herself to strive and overcome her challenges and fight her way through life with a smile and a giggle. Having a child who has a rare genetic disorder has made my wife and I see the world in a very different way and appreciate the beauty it has brought to us.

At first when we were given the diagnosis, we thought we had  lost the child we wanted, but as time passed we reached new millstones and created wonderful memories, we can whole heartedly say our lives have changed for the better. The future is uncertain for all, but what we do know is as parents we will always fight to gain the best care for Aara.

The RTS Support Group is a charity that basis its ethos in connecting families and to allow them to share experiences and learn from each other. One of the key commitments of the charity is they are co funding a PhD student with Aston university to carry out research into RTS which will not only benefit my warrior but all the other RTS warriors around the world. Please help me in raising funds and showing your support as we will be forever grateful.

Thank you
