Story
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving Page…. In April 2019 I am running my first ever marathon for Activity Alliance (formerly known as English Federation of Disability Sport) who work towards disability inclusion in sport.
Anyone that knows me will tell you, that whilst I am a keen sportswoman enjoying both watching and playing in a range of sports – particularly netball, I have never had a love for running. Watching thousands of people each year run the London Marathon, including my brother, still didn’t encourage me to participate, until now. In 2019 I will run the 26.2 miles to help this amazing charity deliver more inclusive sporting opportunities and that’s because I believe everyone should have access to an active life.
I was introduced to this charity through being heavily involved in the sporting sector (both work and socially) and I know my passion for sport will give me the drive I need not only to get me training, but also through each and every mile on the day. Along the way I want to raise awareness of Activity Alliance and how they enhance people’s lives by enabling more disabled people to be active through the programmes they deliver. Supporting this cause will assist them to continue their work in sport and look to a future where disabled people are just as likely as non-disabled people to be active.
All money raised will go directly to this charity, therefore if you feel you can, please donate with as much or as little as possible. Your support for this charity and myself is greatly appreciated - here’s to the next 6 months of fun filled dark winter evening training!
Thank you in anticipation :)
