Story
Edit…
Well, here I am still going and still to get to London to complete this half marathon!
Sadly the RPHM discussed below was out of the question for me as a Hospice in The Weald runner as the RP charity required each charity / participant to pay an additional £45 to run the event virtually. We decided it best to switch event entirely and so I will now be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon (LLHM) this Sunday 1st August 2021!
The ITBS pain has eased however my mileage and training has slipped but I still have a few little secret goals at the forefront of my mind to try my best to achieve. You can’t achieve without trying after all!
Feeling very anxious about running in a crowd and being in London after all this time and with positive cases popping up left right and centre. I ave my little support crew though and my chauffeur into London 💙💙🧡
Thank you for your support, I’ll see you on the other side!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 11th April I’ll be taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon - which sadly due to covid - 19 will not be taking place in the Royal Parks. Instead, it will be a virtual event for which I will devise a route close to home.
Unfortunately my running hasn’t been going as well as it did throughout 2020 lately as I am struggling a lot with ITBS (illiotibial band syndrome) which makes running further than 5km very painful. However, my pain is completely and utterly insignificant compared to the need for support of Hospice in the Weald and the suffering of those they care for. I will be seeking physiotherapy before and after the event (as I will be doing another in October!) and even if I have to crawl to the end I WILL COMPLETE THIS!
The Hospice were an incredible help to our family when Sue (my mother in law) was unwell in August/September 2019. Her illness came very unexpectedly and was a devastating shock for all. The hospice nurses were a true blessing, their gentle support, caring nature and in imposing presence brought comfort to us all. It will be an honour to step out in my green and white vest on 11th April to do my little bit to help at a time when charities need us most.
