Zoe's Half Marathon Fundraiser

Richmond RUNFEST Half Marathon 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·
Hi everyone,
On Sunday 12th September, I'm going to be running the Richmond Half Marathon!
This may come as a surprise as I'm definitely not known for my athleticism! But lockdown has made me want to take on a new challenge and running 13.1 miles is something I never imagined I'd do.
And it's all to raise money for Age UK Lambeth. I started working for this charity as their Community Fundraiser in February and it is truly an incredible organisation to be a part of.
Age UK Lambeth is an independent, local charity which strives to help older people in Lambeth to live the later years of their life to the fullest. This past year has caused many people to experience loneliness for the first time. But for many older people who live alone, it's an ongoing experience that won't end when lockdown does.
This is why Age UK Lambeth works tirelessly to tackle loneliness and social isolation amongst our service users. We put on over 60 events a month for people to attend - from Zumba sessions, to computer classes, to museum trips - so that people can socialise and discover new friendships. We run a befriending service, pairing up a volunteer with someone who needs to see a friendly face each week. We also run an advice line to help people with housing, benefits and health issues and we help people living alone to feel safe and secure in their homes.
Every penny I raise running this half marathon will go towards helping more people benefit from the amazing services Age UK Lambeth provides and it will have an immeasurable impact on the individuals that we help.
It's raising money for this amazing cause that will get me past the finish line in September. And so I would be incredibly grateful for anything you can donate to my fundraiser!
Thank you!
