Story
So, this year I am taking on a challenge like no other, the TCS
London Marathon. I have never done anything like this before and until
beginning of March 2022 had never done any running in my life (except forced cross country at school), however I do like a challenge and when it was suggested by a friend about doing this, at first I was no way, but I then spoke to previous runners of the London Marathon, who not only encouraged me but said it is the best experience ever, so here I am going for it and could not be more excited.
Over the last few years with the pandemic affecting us all, we have all over come challenges like no other, whether work, loss, lockdowns, financial, illness and for me it was a weight-loss journey for a year in 2020. I managed to reach my goal and by doing this realised that nothing is impossible and why can’t I do something incredible like the London Marathon.
During the pandemic the charity sector already very under funded also suffered serve damage to their funding capital, with shops closed, events cancelled, fundraising opportunities unavailable and services stretched further.so being given a place on #Team Isabel and helping a great local Charity like Isabel Hospice is a great honour.
Isabel Hospice provides palliative support to the 370,000 people who live in eastern Hertfordshire. Hospice care is about helping people to live well for as long as possible and have a good death in the place of their choice when the time comes. Without your help, we could not make this possible for our patients and their families. Each year we care for approx. 2,000 people but we know there are even more people that need our help.
