Story

I'm swimming 67km - the distance across the English Channel and back - between this week (14th Feb) and my birthday (21st April).

I'm fundraising for Parkinson's UK as it's an important charity for my family and I. Parkinson's is the fastest growing neurological condition in the world - it affects hundreds of thousands of people in the UK, of all ages. As a progressive neurological condition, it has huge effects on its sufferers and their friends and families. I'd like to help Parkinson's UK help people with the condition, as well as their loved ones.

I'll swim this distance in my local pools, and occasionally (if I'm lucky / have the balls to!) in open water. I'm a bit terrified as this is quite a big challenge for me, especially alongside working full-time standing up for 8 hours a day, so pls donate anything you can as this really will propel me along the way!

I'm aiming to raise £670 to coincide with the distance, but would love to earn more than that (£6700? £67000000??). But really, any amount would be massively appreciated.

You can follow my progress on Strava :)

(My watch doesn't seem to record the distance accurately in a pool, so the measurements are based on me counting lenghts)

Lots of love, Zoe x

P.S please enjoy that delightful photo which Ana took of me in Utrecht when we were swimming our way through lockdown back in summer 2020.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
