It means a lot to me to raise money for Thorpe Hall. My mum passed here and i still remember how amazing the team there were with my Mum, they smiled each time she sent her porridge back and did all they could to get it just right! Anything she asked was never too much trouble. They showed such heart-warming care and support to all of us. All those little things mean a lot when you look for comfort when you lose a loved one.
If anyone else i know or if i was in this situation and spent my last days here i would feel at peace, cared for and loved.... this is why raising money for Thorpe Hall is so important and valuable.
Anyone who knows me, knows I've always been active and that when i put my mind to something i WILL do it! This half marathon is a massive milestone for me though heres why ....
sept 2020 i was unable to walk 100m without acute pain. i was rushed into hospital a few times, was on strong meds and had lots of investigations. All of this significantly reduced my quality of life. Thankfully it wasn't life threatening and i was diagnosed with Adenomyosis and put on a waiting list for a full hysterectomy.
Fast forward to now ....... with the support my family and friends, Able fitness and some bad ass determination i have been able to turn things around, start smashing some goals, lost weight and significantly reduced my symptoms which means i no longer need to have a hysterectomy.
I'm back ha ha so now to start setting some new goals !!
Training is well underway for this half marathon 💪🏻
i would like to give back as much as i can. I can't support all charities, but this is one i always support.
I know since COVID and rising bills has meant you all can't support everyone raising money for charities. However, if you can spare a little no matter how small your donation is, it all adds up :-)
