Story
On 26th June I will be attempting to run my first trail marathon in Afan valley forest park: 26.231 miles with an elevation of around 3,000ft.
The official Tough Runner event has been postponed until next year, but with my training almost complete I decided to give it a go anyway and add to the mental challenge by running it solo.
3 years ago I ran my first marathon for Tenovus cancer care. My stepmum was battling terminal metastatic breast cancer and was waiting for me at the finish line. She won't be at the finish line this time, but I will be running in her memory instead.
Tenovus Cancer Care provide help and support cancer patients and their families. They provide mobile support units in Wales to bring treatment closer to home and in a more relaxed setting. They provide nurse-led support lines and fund innovative and ground breaking cancer research.
Please help me raise some money for this great charity once again! The on-going COVID-19 pandemic is having a devastating impact on Tenovus Cancer Care. They've experienced a huge drop in their income, their charity shops were forced to close and most of their fundraising events have had to be cancelled or postponed. Your donations will ensure they can be here for anyone affected by cancer. Your support has never been more valued. Thank you.#HelpGiveHope
