I am Zachariah, i am 8 years old and turn 9 in November, as a child my family and i witnessed a horrible incident on a beach in Spain, where we watched a man drown , my parents tried to run for help but the man sadly pass away, it affected not just the poor family but ours. From that day my parents vowed to make sure me and my brothers were going to be strong swimmers,able to help ourselves and others. We came home a different family and mum and dad paid for our swimming lessons to start. 

I was 4 years old, my brothers (twins) were 2 and a half. Ever since i have swam most weeks and since starting primary i have gone on to win many badges and certificates, my brothers the same. My head Teacher Mr Kenyon even awarded me a swim trophy for the one with most "Swimming Potential" my family are so proud. I am now swimming four times a week, twice with my school and twice out of school. I am on the school swim team and have just been signed to my local club. Il still have my lessons to improve my techniques, but i want to use what i have become good at to help raise money. Lung disease runs in our family and we have lost several relatives to cancer and emphysema, my grandad Thomas who i love dearly also has copd.. if i can help in anyway by doing something i enjoy, then here i am..
