Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We are running the Chelmsford Half Marathon for Young Minds, aiming to raise some money as we feel passionately about the importance of mental health awareness, especially in young people.
Recently, we’ve been struck by some tragic news, as Charles Roberts, a friend to all, took his own life. He was the kindest, funniest and most caring person and always had a smile on his face. I sat in a group with him in my maths classes and he managed to make me laugh every lesson, whether it was from a small witty joke, or just a smile. He was the most genuine guy and we will all miss him lots. This just highlights how important it is to speak out about mental health and how no one should have to cope with their struggles alone. Young Minds want to ‘see a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health, and all young people get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what.’
We have been planning to do this since last year, as we knew that lockdown put a strain on people’s mental health. The idea of raising money for such an important cause has motivated us throughout this year and with recent events, we are putting our all in to try and raise as much money as we can.
