Story

My story,

Myself and a group of my supportive friends will be running the boss hog, which consists of 40 obstacles, over 7 miles. All in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices. EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk and support their families.

As some of you are aware, our family lost our precious Violet-May in 2021, my gorgeous, special,  granddaughter. Violet-May had a heart condition, which only allowed her to live 10 days with her family. Becoming a grandad brings a love beyond words, Violet-May will forever hold a special place in my heart. I hold on to the special moments with my granddaughter, and the special bond we will always have. I’m beyond proud of what such a tiny baby went through and fought in such a short period of time. Unfortunately, she was too precious for this world, leading us on this journey.

Violet’s final days and moments were spent at a EACH hospice, who helped her parents and family members create the most special memories and memory work. In such a daunting, life changing experience we were extremely looked after and were welcomed with loving arms. EACH continue to offer us support and look after our family after the loss of our Violet-May. We had nurses who fell in love with Violet, none of us went without anything. While we were in the hospice Violet’s parents managed to make memory work, take Violet-May for a walk, do normal parent things and we knew they had the support of everyone at each when they needed them. They were all there right up until Violet-May grew her angel wings.

Surrounded by her Mummy, Daddy and both her Nanny's Violet grew her wings, Sunday 17th October 2021. So in loving memory of our sweet Violet-May, our angel. We're trying to raise as much as we can, to a charity that is a massive part of us all and Violet-May's short, but ever so sweet journey.

So, on 8th October 2023, just a day after Violet-May’s 2nd heaven birthday, Violet-may's water boys will be running the boss hog and we would really appreciate if we can raise as much as we can for such a special, worthy charity! Every donation, no matter how big or small is so appreciated. Thank you for reading and thank you for all donations.
