Adoption UK connect, inform and support adopted and other care experienced children, young people, adults and their families. We also campaign for lifelong support, alongside those whose lives are affected by adoption and care experience.

Story

Five years ago, I was training for the London Marathon when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a hard journey made almost fun by all the love and support I got from friends and family. During this time, my dear friend, Julie, adopted 3 children.

This year I received my all clear and have decided to take on the IronMan to celebrate a stronger body and mind. Julie and Tertius's children will be with them for 4 years.

I never ran that London Marathon. So to complete the IronMan in Austria this year, will signpost how the last five years have been years of strength and growth. I do this with a grateful heart to everyone who adds to the richness of my life, but especially for the 3 Du Plessis children. And therefore for Adoption UK. I would love you to dig deep (as I will be doing this next month!) and donate.
