Story
.In April 2019 Zebras Children and Adults Charity started the Zebras Community Café, which was held at Vincent House in Enfield North London.
The project is aimed at providing students and adults with disabilities and complex needs the chance to gain vital life skills and work experience.
In March 2020 the coronavirus struck meaning the café and all the hard work that had gone into creating it had to close. Harriet, the charities Co- Founder and project manager for the café quickly decided that she we would not let this crisis get in the way of her work and wanted to still support young people and therefore decided to start live streaming Lockdown home cooking sessions from her own kitchen at home via Facebook.
Soon the community got involved, and a fab team of people cooking at home joined in weekly – me included!
These sessions were so successful that Harriet is now even featured on the new National Lottery Advert an was in the daily Mirror.
From the experience we decided along with the fab team that was formed to create a keepsake memory online cookbook. Many people have requested the recipes we used and are still baking them along with their children and families.
I soon got to work and used Canva to create this amazing book, which I hope you all will enjoy!
We would have loved to have it printed however the charity does not have the funds to do so.
I thought i would make an online PDF for people to download, which they then can print off individual pages to use as a cooking guide.
To receive a copy all you need to do is make a donation of your choice – it can be as little as £1, email me your email address and a copy will be emailed over to you! ellie.zebrascacharity@outlook.com
