On Saturday 2nd July 2016, we are going to climb Ben Nevis and try to raise as much money as possible for Bone Cancer Research.
We will also be holding a 2 hour Spinathon at Fit4less Douglas on 26th June.
This is a cause that's close to Abbie's heart after losing her best friend to bone cancer three years ago. Natalie enjoyed hill walking and the outdoors so it seemed fitting to raise money for bone cancer. Natalie was diagnosed with an Ewing Sarcoma in the summer 4years ago and was taken from us the following year. There's not a day goes when Natalie is not in the thoughts of friends and family. She was an amazing person in so many ways and a fantastic friend. Our aim is to make more people aware of this rare cancer and to raise money for research in fighting it.
Primary bone cancer is a rare type of cancer that begins in the bones. Around 550 new cases are diagnosed each year in the UK. Back in 2004 there was practically no funding for research and little awareness, information or support specifically for primary bone cancer. A group of bereaved parents of young bone cancer sufferers, came together and registered the charity in 2006.
Bone Cancer Research aims to improve outcomes for people with primary bone cancer through Research, Awareness, Information and Support.
