Story
2 years ago I suffered a traumatic brain injury in a non fault car crash. I was rear ended by a distracted driver and little did I know at the time how life changing it would be. Prior to my injury I was a firefighter with the london fire brigade and a national level swimmer. I've since lost both of those things and it took a massive tole on my mental health coming to terms with my illness and long term future. I came to climbing out a 15 months afyer my accident. It made me realise just how much progress I had made and inspired me to always strive for more whether that be health or validation. I have since gone on to return to a meaningful job, become an active disability advocate and slowly started to get back in to some fitness and health. I spent almost 15 months learning how to be a patient and it took me a week to learn how to be Zak again. This charity really put me back on track with my life and I would love to continue my journey with the charity and raise money for it to continue changing lives.
