With only 1 in 3 people having access to safe water it is the currently the biggest obstacle to the health of communities in developing countries, this Ramadan give water in the name of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ 

The effect of the water crisis in Pakistan is being felt amongst many people. In Pakistan, 80 percent of people living in 24 major cities do not have access to clean water. Entire communities are struggling and are in urgent need of clean and safe water for drinking, cooking, hygiene and for their livestock. Some communities have no choice but to suffer the effects of waterborne diseases due to the lack of clean drinking water. 

On the authority of Sa‘d ibn ’Ubadah (ra) who said, ’I asked, “O Messenger of Allah! Which charity is best?” He [saw] replied, “Providing water”’. (Ibn Majah)

This Ramadan I aim to raise money for a water well situated in a village or an arid area in Pakistan where water is scarce. This will be done through the charity Muslim Hands. This well can provide hundreds of people with access to clean and safe drinking water. On average it can aid up to 35 families. The wells are dependable in all seasons as they draw water from up to 40 metres below ground. This water well will be situated in a communal area such as a school or a mosque. 

“When a person dies, their deeds come to an end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge which is beneficial, and a righteous child who prays for them.” (Narrated by Abu Hurairah, Sahih Muslim)
