Story
Hi guys,
It's Febraury and in the UK it's veryyyyyyy cold, and we are mad enough to do a 5 km walk around Barr Beacon in this weather.
Zain is only 6 years old and already he wants to make a difference to others. We are starting by supporting a local Charity called Walsall Hospice. Money raised will help terminally ill patients and their families.
This is his first fundraising event organised by us and not his school etc. So please support him, it doesn't matter how much you donate but please remember every little helps.
Thank You
Ruby & Zain
Update:
Zain has been ill and has rested this half term so he could be fit fot the walk. He has managed to get £57 so far offline, he would have raised more had he not been so ill. It's snowing and we are hoping it would clear up in two days. No matter what the weather we will still being doing this walk. Zain is going to go dressed up in his Batman costume and I'm going as Robin but undercover lol! I'll break out in my costume only if the need arises lol!
21st March
Finally the day has arrived. Yesterday was such a sunny day and I wake up today to find snow everywhere. This didn't put us off, We had to leave our car at the pub and walk all the way to the top in the snow, thought Zain would be tired but he was determned as ever. As soon as the race started he disappeared, he ran by himself whilst I walked behind all the runners.
The press were there so Zain had his picture taken for the Express and Star. He had won the best fancy dress prize which was a trip to mini golf at Adventureland in Star City. He loved every minute of it and was very tired, so I was very grateful to Margaret at Walsall Hospice who gave us a lift back to our car. I was soooooo proud of Zain today.
Zain was mentioned in today's Express & Star on page 5 (Monday 22nd). If you look carefully you can see him on the end of the group picture. He is also on the Walsall Hospice website and I have been told they will feature him in their next Newsletter. :-)
