Story
My name is Zac LaGrutta and I am a sophomore at St. John's High School. I created this page for my school's Pioneer Drive, our annual fundraising campaign. As a student at St. John's, I have had so many unbelievable opportunities. To list only a couple examples, I've gotten to play football in the fall, race for the alpine ski team in the winter, row crew in the spring, travel to Costa Rica during my February break, and be involved in so many clubs and service groups. Since joining SJ, so many doors have opened for me, and I am so excited for what lies ahead in my next couple years.
One of the best highlights of my time at SJ was last year when I awarded the Joe Lane scholar award, which is one of the highest honors one can achieve at our school (see middle photo). This honor made me realize how impactful my time at St. John's has been so far. It has also made me realize how fortunate I am to go to a school like SJ where your whole world can be transformed.
The goal of the Pioneer Drive is to raise money to provide scholarships and tuition costs to students who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend St. John's. The money we raise every year could potentially change someone's entire life. There are lots of boys out there who would never have a chance like this. Please consider donating so that some other kid can have the opportunities just like the ones I have been given.
