Story
I am helping raise funds to furnish & equip Education For All's 6th boarding house due to open September 2019! 50 beds, 50 mattresses, 30 desks, 50 chairs, kitchen equipment, toilets, showers and solar panels.
The right to education is a fundamental human right. Every individual, irrespective of race, gender, nationality, ethnic or social origin, religion or political preference, age or disability, is entitled to education.
EFA is providing education to girls from the remotest poorest girls in the High Atlas region of Morocco. It was founded in 2007 in response to the high illiteracy rates among girls in the region who were ending their schooling due to living too far away from the few secondary schools.
Now having 194 girls living in 5 EFA boarding houses, close to the secondary schools. They have access to books and computers, receive additional study support, and benefit from the love and care of brilliant local house mothers.
Everything is provided for free, offering 3 nutritious meals a day, hot showers, cosy beds, access to computers, study support via an international volunteer programme and dedicated, local housemothers. The overall environment makes it easy for the girls to settle in and thrive in their studies.
The results are impressive, with grades well above the national average, a 90% pass rate across all years and 71 girls now enrolled in university.
I would love to expand this opportunity for more girls in Morocco. Thank you for supporting us to reach this goal!
Educate a girl. Educate the next generation.
