Story
On the 5th of March 2016 we lost Jimmy, my darling father in law, to cancer, after a 5 year battle with this horrendous disease.
Jimmy was the kindest, funniest, loyal most supportive person you could meet, who not only loved his family but opened his heart to me and my daughter Laura.
I decided that I wanted to do something positive on the anniversary of his passing - turn a negative into a positive - and so here I am!
One of the 6 weekly chores I used to do for Jimmy was to cut his hair so I thought there was no better way to remember him than to shave off my hair.....Stephen thinks I'm bonkers!
When Jimmy was diagnosed with multiple myeloma both himself and Doreen received a huge amount of support, friendship and care from the staff (and patients) within Maggies Highland which is why I have decided to raise funds for them - a small thank you for all they did for our family. I'm also hoping that if my hair is long enough and in good enough condition to donate it to one of the charities that make wigs for cancer patients.
In memory of our Pops - gone but most definitely never forgotten. ❤
