Story
During 2015 I completed the Trekfest Brecon Beacons challenge. During my journey I met some amazing people who were completing the challenge for their own reasons and their amazing chosen charities, one such person was Linda Good and having listened to why she was completing the Trekfest challenge I decided that I would like to dedicate my charity running in 2016 to her cause in memory of her son Leo Good (https://www.justgiving.com/leo-james-good/). So, my 2016 running challenges are:
5 March 2016: 45 miles, The Greenman Ultra Marathon - http://www.ultrarunningltd.co.uk/green-man-ultra.html - I am hoping to come in under 11 hours - so I didn't make 11 hours or under, a couple of weeks before the race I thought 11 hours 15 minutes. On the day was on target until checkpoint 3, left glute went a few miles before, popped too many pills, nausea kicked in, couldn't take food on board etc, etc....but...my lovely brother in law met me around mile 36 and ran with me, at mile 44/45 (slight contention on whether race was 45 or 46 miles) on the Clifton Suspension Bridge, my nemesis (don't like heights), was the most amazing Good family, they finished the last mile with me. I completed in 11 hours 48 minutes. I kept going though I was exhausted because of Leo and because I know Linda Good gave more in the 54 mile challenge, Trekfest 2015. Too an amazing little boy, and too the most amazing family who love him so much. xx
4 June 2016: 31 miles, Trekfest the Brecon Beacons - http://www.trekfest.org.uk/beacons/ - a bit mountainous so hoping to come in under 9 hours.
25 May 2016: And, now running the GNR in September as Robin..yes as in Batman and Robin...the Bro in Law is Batman!
I would be so grateful if you could support me in my challenges and for such a worthy cause. Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
