I will be running the 10k in Edinburgh in May 2020 in order to raise money for Marie Curie, alongside my big brother.

As most of you know, i lost my Grandma, wee Mary doll, on November 8th 2019. She was diagnosed with COPD a number of years ago & her health gradually declined. 

She required alot of physical, emotional & psychological support, particularly & inevitably over the last few months of her life. I actively cared for her over the years & being the only granddaughter, I was incredibly close to her. 

My Grandmas final wish was to die at home surrounded by her family, & because of the Marie Curie team, we were able to make this happen. 

They visited her regularly in her last weeks, days & hours of life, made sure she was comfortable & pain free, & provided that all important psychological & emotional support. They were always on hand to offer advice, or to simply lend an ear when we were upset. 

After my Grandma passed away, they continued to offer support to us as a family in such a kind & compassionate manner.

The nurses were exceptionally kind, empathetic & understanding. They made such a difficult time just that little bit easier.

Marie Curie rely on donations to provide this outstanding service, & we hope to raise money so that another family can benefit from the incredible support that we received.
