DEC Nepal Earthquake Appeal · 27 April 2015 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The Earthquake that took place on the 25th of April, 2015 in Nepal was the biggest in the country in over 80 years. More then 7000 people are reported to be killed, along with 30000 and more injured and an unknown number of people still missing. The death toll is expected to reach 10,000. Nepal has lost most of its infrastructure to the devastating affect of the earthquake and economic aftershocks are predicted to be felt for years even after the last victims have been buried and the rubble cleared.
Currently international aids has reached Nepal and people all over the world has played an involving role in responding to Nepal's relief. Various countries has been sending in aids along with medics and supplies to help the surviving victims of the disaster. However, prices of foods and water is rising and access to clean water is becoming scarce. Energy rich food, water purifying tablets along with various medical supplies are needed. Personal hygiene items are also running scarce and with the surviving victims living in the most desperate conditions, proper sanitation access needs to be provided.
As students of an institution here in the United Kingdom, we are left with our hands tied as to what physical aid we can provide for our home country. However, we can be a part of the country's healing process along with the supported charities to aid the country with fundraiser and providing as much awareness as we can. We hope to do our part during this time along with others who have already been physically active on the ground. Please support us so we can all make a difference along with each others effort to raise fund for Nepal.
