Story
York Theatre Royal has been producing great drama in the beautiful city of York for over 250 years and is one of the country’s leading producing theatres.
In June 2017 we, along with Pilot Theatre, will be staging our next large scale community production, Everything is Possible : The York Suffragettes, This will be our fourth, and biggest, community production we have produced and will be the first inside our brand new renovated theatre. Everything is Possible will bring to life the untold story of the York Suffragette movement and will involve a cast and crew of around 300 volunteers from across York and it's region. The play is being written by Bridget Foreman (who co-wrote our last large scale community production, In Fog and Falling Snow) and will be performed on the streets and at iconic locations of York, including the York Minster Piazza, as well as onstage at York Theatre Royal. It will have a contemporary as well as a historical setting.
More information on the production can be found on York Theatre Royal's website

The cost of putting on such a large production is in the region of around £100,000, we have a fundraising target of £30,000 to raise to make this production possible. It is vital that we raise these funds as these productions are so important to our community and without the donations and support from our community these production could not happen. We are registered charity and rely on public support throughout the year and it is so important for us to expand and collaborate with the wider community both on, and off stage.
It's an exciting community production, and we would love your help to make it our best yet! York Theatre Royal's North Yorkshire Coastal Walk is just one of the ways we are raising funds for this production.
On Sunday 14th May a team from across the organization will embark on a stunning walk along the North Yorkshire Coastline, walking a total of 13 miles from the delightful old fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay to North Yorkshire's most famous seaside resort, Scarborough. In September 2016 we successfully raised over £3,000 by taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge all in aid of our Access All Area's programme, so this time we thought we would give our team something that is a little less painful on the feet but still a challenge!
