Story
Young Carers
My story
Currently, my team and I are working with National Citizen Service (NCS) to help make a change in the world. Throughout the last two weeks, my team and I have visited and spoke to number of different charities such as the beehive, Hartcliffe farm and young carers and at the end of the week we had to pick one charity to help and fundraise for, So my team chose young carers.
Young carers are people aged 8-18 who care for a member of their family. They complete over 19 household jobs a day including cooking, cleaning and looking after younger siblings.
We are raising money for this charity because we feel as though the young carers do not get enough money and support from the government. Therefore, we would like to organise a day trip for them, to give them the chance to socialise and relax.
That’s why we need your help. We have decided to create this fundraising page to help the Bristol and Gloucestershire charity, Carers Support Centre, and we hope that you can donate a little to help us and them!
On Friday 17th August at 12:00 we are doing a cake sale at broadwalk (in the main centre).
On Wednesday 22nd August at 12:00 until 4:00 my team and I are doing a funday at Redcatch Park, knowle. There is gonna be a cake sale, raffle, face glitter, name the teddy, fun football games and more.
We would like to raise as much as we can for these young carers.
Thank you for your support
